It’s time to rev your engines for a cause.

The staff at Indian Larry Motorcycles in Williamsburg is hosting a charity motorcycle ride on Sunday to benefit the Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation.

They hope to raise awareness of Adrenoleukodystrophy, or ALD, a rare and deadly brain disorder that mainly affects young boys.

The foundation was created in honor of Aidan Jack Seeger, who died after a painful battle against ALD in 2012 at the age of 7, just 11 months from his diagnosis.

Since Aidan’s death, his parents Elisa and Bobby Seeger, the owners of Indian Larry Motorcycles, have worked tirelessly to help other families through counseling and to get laws changed to require the state to screen newborns for ALD, a rapidly advancing disease that destroys nerve cells.

In 2013, New York state passed legislation known as “Aidan’s Law” requiring screening for the disorder in newborns.

“Aidan’s Ride NY” will begin at 11 a.m. at Indian Larry Motorcycles at 400 Union Ave. in Williamsburg and end at The Emporium in Patchogue, L.I.
