A settlement involving Justin Bieber and a photographer named Jeffrey Binion over an incident that took place in South Florida has been reached.
According to Billboard, Binion’s attorney, Mark DiCowden, confirmed that the settlement had been reached yesterday, April 24. Although DiCowden released the news of the confirmation, the details of the agreement are confidential.
In a CBS Miami report in 2013, Binion claimed he was roughed up by one of the singer’s bodyguards. He reportedly sued Bieber for $15,000. Binion claimed he was assaulted while taking pictures of Bieber outside of a recording studio.

Another photographer who also claimed to be assaulted that night revealed, “They started threatening us, oh we gonna kill you, you gonna get roughed up you in the hood man you don’t know what we could do to you we got guns,” said a photographer who did not want their identity released, according to CBS Miami. “Justin Bieber ordered one of the security guards to go and break my camera. He chased me down the street, he grabbed me really rough by the neck to stop me and then he snatched my camera.”
Regarding Binion’s specific lawsuit, CBS Miami reported that the lawsuit stated that Bieber “…directed [Hugo] Hesny and three other bodyguards to confront [Binion] and to forcibly take the memory card from [his] camera.”
Additionally, Binion claimed that he was thrown against a wall and was choked and threatened with a gun.
Bieber has certainly had a career of public ups and downs. The 21-year-old revealed in an interview with Men’s Health how growing up in the public eye was not easy.
“[It’s] almost like I grew up for the public but I didn’t necessarily grow up,” Bieber told Mens Health. “There were things I had to do, as far as the way I had to make relationships, and conversation, but as far as actually growing up, there were a lot of things I missed out on.”
Two soldiers, including one who is now a guard at Buckingham Palace, have been spared jail after they brutally assaulted two men in an unprovoked attack after a night out.
Shaun Smith, 25, and Jason Collins, 21, walked free from Teesside Crown Court, after Judge Jamie Hill QC said he wanted them to continue with their Army careers.
CCTV footage of the brutal attacks, which occurred near Smith and Collins’ barracks at Catterick Garrison in April 2014, shows Smith stamping on the head of one victim 18 times, while Collins, a soldier in the Welsh Guards who is now a guard at Buckingham Palace, repeatedly punches him as he tries to run away.
The soldiers alleged that something was said by victims James Wormald and Mark Thompson that provoked the attack, but Judge Hill called it a “deeply unpleasant and inexcusable incident”.
Regarding the victim who was stamped, Judge Hill said: “Whatever caused it to erupt, he was causing no threat at that stage and it’s a major surprise he suffered no more than bruising and was able to get up and see if his friend was all right.”
After finishing the attack, which left one victim unconscious, the pair ran off, and were found hiding in a beck by police.
They claimed they were acting within the law to protect themselves from assault, and wanted to “disable” the threat.
After the sentencing, Detective Constable Andy Palmer said: “This is the most violent piece of CCTV footage I have seen in 10 years as a police officer and it is extremely fortunate that the victims in this case were not more seriously injured.
“This case highlights the horrors of alcohol-fuelled violence and is even more shocking given that the defendants were, up until this incident, of good character.”
Smith and Collins had been out drinking in Darlington before the attack, a town around 15 miles from Catterick Garrison and a popular drinking destination for the garrison’s soldiers.
Two of the soldiers’ superior officers attended the hearing, and told the court they wanted the two men to return to work.
Richard Herrmann defending Smith, said: “He’s an angel but on that night he was a devil.”
Sentencing both men for committing actual bodily harm, Judge Hill expressed his hope that the Army would continue to employ the men, who he said had showed a considerable degree of remorse.
He said: “What I have done is entirely exceptional. I cannot say what the Army will do but I express the hope that the Army feels able to keep you.”
Collins, a soldier in the Welsh Guards, was given a 12-month community order, and Smith, of the Scots Guards, was given a 12 month sentence suspended for 12 months and was ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work.

The man shot at the Hells Angels clubhouse in East Central Spokane Sunday is not cooperating with police who are investigating the incident and told officers he “didn’t want to be a victim,” according to court documents.
The two men who drove the victim, identified as Logan J. Wood, to the hospital to be treated for his wound also refused to tell police anything other than they were at the clubhouse at 1306 E. Sprague Ave., court records say. The victim was shot in the back.
All three men denied being members of the Hells Angels, but one asked police for permission to retrieve his “cuts” from the trunk of the car used to drive the victim to the hospital before officers impounded it as evidence. The term “cuts” is commonly used to refer to a Hells Angels motorcycle vest, according to court documents.
Both Wood and one of the men who drove him to the hospital are convicted felons.
Police responded to the clubhouse just before 11:30 a.m. Sunday after a 911 caller reported hearing gunshots. One witness told police that she saw a red truck and a black car driving quickly away from the clubhouse after the gunshots were heard. She also saw several men get into a red car and drive away after taking off their motorcycle vests and putting them in the trunk of the car, according to court documents. A second witness gave similar information to police.
Several men who told police they had been in the backyard of the clubhouse that day denied any knowledge of the shooting.
Police found six 9 mm cartridge cases in the street outside the clubhouse, according to court records. There were six motorcycles parked out front. One appeared to have been hit by a bullet on the front fender and a helmet placed on one of the motorcycles had a bullet hole in it. One bullet was removed from the front wall of the building.
Investigators also found three loaded guns sitting in plain view on a countertop inside the clubhouse – a .38-caliber derringer, a .22-caliber revolver and a .45-caliber Sig Sauer semi-automatic handgun, court documents say.
Police recently said on Twitter that the department has responded to the Hells Angels clubhouse 19 times since January 2013.
This spring, men’s brogues are reworked to appeal to a variety of tastes. Traditionally a classic dress style, the brogue has been transformed via new treatments, such as metallic finishes or metal studding in lieu of perforations.
Classic-minded brands, such as Church’s and Brunello Cucinelli, offer subtle updates, like colored leathers or mixed media, as seen in Cucinelli’s suede-and-denim style. Giorgio Armani and Paul Smith went unconventional, with mixed patterns or multicolored outsoles. And Saint Laurent replaced perforations with metal studs.
Fashion takes come in the form of Alexander McQueen’s metallic brogue, a shoe that’s bound to to stop traffic. Valentino’s version with a flatform sole is less flashy.
Affordable options, such as Aldo’s classic style or Cole Haan’s suede brogue, offer a dressy alternative to intimidating luxury prices.
The new way to wear the staple shoe? Don the brogue with denim, either crisp or distressed, for put-together weekend wear.
If you’re going the dressy route, stick with the brown or black leather styles, which add polish.

Paul Ceglia, who for years has claimed to own 50 percent of Facebook, was denied a bid to revive his case against the company in a U.S. appeals court on Monday.
Ceglia filed suit against Facebook and its CEO Mark Zuckerberg in 2010, claiming he was entitled to the ownership stake on the basis of a 2003 “Work for Hire” contract. Zuckerberg had done programming work for Ceglia’s company, StreetFax.com. After a federal district court dismissed his ownership claim last year, Ceglia appealed that ruling to a circuit court in New York.
On Monday, the appeals court affirmed the earlier ruling, calling the Work for Hire document a forgery. The court called Ceglia’s arguments meritless and said he has “repeatedly demonstrated total disregard for our judicial system.”
The court said it lacked evidence the contract was real and had evidence that it wasn’t.
“The record contains no master electronic copy of the Work for Hire document, as might be expected if it were authentic, but rather, reflects multiple similar documents that appear to be test forgeries,” the ruling said. Plus, the discovery of the real StreetFax contract signed by Ceglia and Zuckerberg “puts the lie to Ceglia’s claim,” the ruling said.
The fact that Ceglia didn’t sue Facebook for seven years “belies common sense,” the ruling said. The fact that the movie “The Social Network,” about another Facebook ownership dispute, also came out in 2010 may have been more than a coincidence, the court said.
Ceglia had also sued the government to stop its criminal prosecution of him on charges he defrauded Facebook. A lower court refused to revive that lawsuit, and the appeals court agreed with that decision.
“We are pleased that the truth has prevailed,” a Facebook spokeswoman said.
Ceglia was on bail in that case but has been missing since at least last month, after cutting off an electronic monitoring bracelet and violating the conditions of his bail. He is believed to have left home with his wife, two children and dog.
Joseph Alioto, an attorney for Ceglia, said he would seek a petition for a rehearing. He said the Work for Hire document was authentic.
Although Ceglia’s whereabouts are unknown, some believe he’s in Ireland with relatives who live there, said Robert Ross Fogg, a defense attorney in Ceglia’s criminal case.

4/20/2015 – EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — Have you noticed more motorcyclists on the road lately? Have you looked for motorcyclists while driving? After a multi-vehicle accident with a motorcyclist, what are the first words said to the police officer on-scene?
“I didn’t see him.”
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, there were 4,381 motorcycle fatalities in 2013. Of that, over 2,500 were multi-vehicle accidents involving motorcyclists. While the military has a much smaller number, one fatality affects more than just the one loss. It affects the family too.
How about the driver that struck the motorcyclist? How is that person affected?
With the spring season underway, May is considered Motorcycle Awareness Month. The idea is to remind vehicle drivers that the motorcycle riding season is upon us and to “look twice, motorcycles are everywhere.”
But why wait? Here in sunny Southern California, our riding season is almost year-round. As summer approaches, more motorcyclists will be on the roads. When making that left turn at an intersection or when you are about to change lanes, take a second look. The person under the helmet may be someone you know.
All measurement details are measured on plane clothing.
Thanks for your understanding.

A woman received a traffic citation after causing a crash that killed a woman riding a motorcycle in Garden City, police said.
Anita Young, 37, was cited with failure to yield the right of way, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins.
Jacqueline Cataldi, 57, of the Socastee area was pronounced dead at 6:22 a.m. Sunday at Grand Strand Medical Center, said Horry County Coroner Robert Edge. The cause of death was head injuries.
Cataldi was the passenger on a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling north on U.S. Highway 17 around 7:40 p.m. Saturday when Young, driving a Mercury, was turning onto U.S. 17 from Cypress Avenue, Collins said.
Collins said Young did not yield the right of way when turning, causing the operator of the motorcycle to lay the motorcycle down. The operator
Neither Cataldi nor the operator of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet. State law does not require adults to wear helmets when riding motorcycles.
Ford unveiled a redesigned version of its Taurus sedan, once the quintessential American car, at the 2015 Shanghai auto show, calling it a “new premium business sedan for China.”
Taurus will be manufactured at new $760 million Changan Ford Hangzhou plant, the automaker said. It’s not intended for the U.S.
“Given the state of the full-size sedan market, no one is surprised that the Ford Taurus redesign isn’t coming stateside,” says Akshay Anand, analyst at Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com.
Michelle Krebs, senior analyst at Autotrader, says, “The Ford Taurus is a storied name in US automotive history, but the fact is, the full-size car market has been in decline in the States with no end in sight. The new Ford Taurus illustrates how the needs of Chinese car buyers are are leading design and decisions on product development by global automakers.”
Taurus was best-selling car in the U.S. in 1988, then passed by the Honda Accord in 1989. Now, Toyota Camry is the perennial No. 1 selling car in the U.S.
Taurus sales in the U.S. were down nearly 28% the first quarter this year vs. the same period a year earlier, according to Autodata.
Ford cites its “One Ford” philosophy in describing the creation of the China Taurus. That approach, a rule of former CEO Alan Mulally, dictates little or not difference among cars sold worldwide, to keep down costs that come from modifications and the design and production changes required to accommodate them.
That would suggest that the China car becomes the global Taurus, but Ford gave no such hint in the Shanghai unveiling, emphasizing how carefully it had studied the Chinese culture and use patterns before crafting the China Taurus.
Of course, even very globalized automakers don’t sell all products in all markets. Ford’s full-size F-150 pickup, for instance, is mainly a North American product.
What are considered large cars in the U.S. are mostly big midsize sedans or large cars on the small end of the big index.
The China Taurus is 6 inches shorter than the current U.S. Taurus, but rides on a wheelbase 4 inches longer, which opens up more leg room, especially in the back.
In China, owners often ride in back, rather than driving themselves as is typical in the U.S., even among executives.
According to Ford, the China-market Taurus has “abundant second-row legroom, and generous shoulder and hip room.”
Ford notes that the China Taurus has “more than 25 intelligent stowage spaces throughout the cabin,” including cupholders “designed to securely hold different-sized tea bottles … Reflecting the importance of second-row passengers in China — where the owner of a premium vehicle is often a passenger rather than a driver — the second row has been designed with an emphasis on comfort.”
Ford’s move tracks developments in the new-car market.
China is a big and growing market and has plenty of demand for big cars. In fact Buick, an iconic big-car U.S brand, sells more vehicles in China than the U.S. and as a result its Chinese unit does most of Buick’s big-sedan design.
U.S. buyers who favor big vehicles pick SUVs instead. or slip into the luxury category, settling for a smaller car in exchange for bigger prestige at about the same price.
That “isn’t a trend that will go away any time soon,” Anand says.
Bay of Plenty men diagnosed with prostate cancer are being called upon to participate in a survey on how they use social networks to help with their health.
Waikato University PhD student Dot Brown hopes to develop a scale medical people can use to identify whether men suffering from the cancer have got supportive networks or not.
Waikato University PhD student Dot Brown is researching the social networks and support of men with prostate cancer.
“The medical system uses fairly traditional ways to find this out and only really accounts for family.
“I’m broadening it to include neighbours and people at the bowling club or anyone like that who could be supportive of men with this cancer,” says Dot.
She’ll use information from the surveys to develop a scale for medical professionals to assess patients’ networks to see whether they are supportive and can provide help when needed.
“Not everyone has supportive networks, for all sorts of reasons and the medial system isn’t good at recognising when people need help but can’t get it.
“It can be something as simple as needing transport for a hospital appointment but nobody is available to help.”
The research is part of Dot’s PhD, which she hopes to complete in three years. She needs 250 men diagnosed with prostate cancer to complete the survey.
“We know a lot about women and breast cancer and how they talk or use communication and how their social networks work but we don’t much about men.
“We don’t have information on how they use their social network contacts.”
Dot’s advertised widely for her survey and says the response supports the widely-held belief that men don’t talk about their health.
“Then on the other hand, men participating in the survey say: ‘We need more of this or more of that’.
“I think men’s health is gradually getting on the agenda here – I’m sort of on that bandwagon.”
Dot’s sic-page survey takes 15 minutes to complete, with emphasis on men’s networks and how men communicate with social contacts. “It’s not about medical stuff.”
To fill in the survey, call 022 103 2702 or email drp8@students.waikato.ac.nz
