McGuire and Masset win flat track championships at Skagit Speeway

Alger, WA – Sun drenched Skagit Speedway hosted the 10th annual Flat Track World Championships presented by BBRP on Saturday night, and as the final flags flew, Wyatt McGuire and Taylor Masset stood triumphant in the Pro Motorcycle and Pro Quad divisions.


McGuire took honors in the Pro Motorcycle division thanks to an insane hole shot that gave him a near 100 foot advantage by the time the bikes exited turn two on the fast 3/10 mile clay oval. Scott Baker held off a racey Wyatt Anderson to take second, with Anderson making a late race scramble to join in the podium. Cole Frederickson won the dash for cash. Heat winners were Anderson and Baker.


Masset swept the night with the Pro Quad class, winning the heat, dash 4 cash and leading every lap of the main event with little challenge. Brett McGhie and Zach Searles had a spirited battle for second with McGhie emerging triumphant. Zearles settled for third and was also a heat race winner.


Other main event winners on the night were Ronnie Cox in the Kart division, Cameron Spidle in the Open Amateur Quads, Gary Beach in the Vintage/Twin Motorcycles, Zach Johnson in the Open Amateur Motorcycles, Michael Hill with the 65/85 Motorcycles and the +30 Motorcycle Main Event winner was Jeff Hiatt.
