UM Motorcycles to debut with a 400 cc Bike

Miami-based two-wheeler manufacturer UM Motorcycles had showcased its motorcycles at the 2014 Auto Expo. It has now been reported that the manufacturer will make the debut in the market with a 400 cc motorcycle. It is not yet sure whether the bike will come in the form of a scrambler or a cruiser. However, the chances of it being a cruiser bike are more because of its grand acceptance in the market.

If the reports are to be trusted, the manufacturers is on course of developing a new 400 cc engine, which will be heavily tested to be apt for the Indian road conditions. The development and production of this engine will take place at Lohia Auto facility located in Uttarakhand. Incidentally, Lohia Auto and UM Motorcycles have entered into a partnership. This will allow the Miami-based manufacturer to produce and stock their products at the Lohia facility. Their first target is to sell approximately 1 lakh units in the year.


The company has plans to showcase their entire range on the occasion of the 2016 Auto Expo. After that, it will go on full throttle with the Indian operations. They will also be able to gauge the response from the Indian population after the Auto Expo 2016. Incidentally, UML has a good presence in all the segments like naked, dual sport and cruiser bikes.
