American Idol 2015: The 10 best performances of season 14!


It’s been a whole week since we saw Nick Fradiani crowned the fourteenth winner of ‘American Idol,’ so to celebrate the one week anniversary of the big finale, we’re taking a look at the very best live performances of the past season as determined by their YouTube view count.


Runner-up Clark Beckham clearly dominates the list, taking up half of the top 10 as his 5 most viewed performances have pulled in more than 894,000 views and counting. Filling out the other five slots are winner Nick, third place finisher Jax, as well as Joey, Qaasim and Daniel.



10. Jax – Only Human (Top 5)
YouTube view count: 164,000+
Jax gave a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Christina Perri’s ‘Only Human’ during the top 5. The last female standing, who eventually came in third place, was told by judge Harry Connick Jr. that her performance was “the perfect example” of when the emotion in the song was more important that the technical performance.





9. Clark Beckham – Sunday Morning (Top 11)
YouTube view count: 166,000+
When it was time to take on a track from a movie, eventual runner-up Clark acoustically covered Maroon 5’s ‘Sunday Morning’ from ‘Cheaper By The Dozen 2.’ The Tennessee native got some pretty high praise from judge Harry Connick Jr., who told him that he “knocked it out of the park.”





8. Clark Beckham – When a Man Loves a Woman (Top 24)
YouTube view count: 169,000+
During the top 24, Clark performed the classic track blues/R&B track ‘When a Man Loves a Woman.’ The singer got the ultimate compliment from judge Jennifer Lopez, who revealed that the performance gave her “goosies all day!”





7. Clark Beckham – Make It Rain (Top 7)
View Count: 178,000+
Clark took on Ed Sheeran’s ‘Sons of Anarchy’ track ‘Make It Rain’ for Billboard week. At the time, Jennifer Lopez called the performance “so amazing,” adding that singing for the Tennessee native was “so effortless.”





6. Nick Fradiani – Beautiful Life (Top 2)
View count: 194,000+
This year’s winner’s performance of his debut single ‘Beautiful Life’ garnered a whole lot of praise from the judges and viewers. In the past week, Nick’s debut performance of his winner’s song has reached almost 200,000 views.





5. Qaasim Middleton – Come Together (Top 11)
YouTube view count: 202,000+
Qaasim Middleton unexpectedly took on The Beatles’ ‘Come Together’ during the top 11, when he was made to sing for his life for the judges save. Cleary, the unexpected song choice worked, as Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban decided to use their one save of the season to keep the singer around for another week.





4. Joey Cook – Fancy (Top 12)
YouTube view count: 207,000+
Quirky Joey Cook put a very fancy twist on Iggy Azalea and Charlie XCX’s 2014 single ‘Fancy.’ The singer gave the pop hit a bit of piano lounge make-over, which had Keith Urban on his feet and Harry giving it an “A+.”





3. Daniel Seavey – Thinking Out Loud (Hollywood Week)
YouTube view Count: 235,000+
The youngest contestant to make it to Hollywood week, 15 year old Daniel Seavey took on Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ during the second stages of the singing competition. The judges loved his performance so much that he made it all the way through to the live shows, where he eventually finished in ninth place.





2. Clark Beckham – The Trouble With Love Is (Top 8)
YouTube view count: 237,000+
Clark took on Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Love Actually’ track ‘The Trouble With Love Is’ when the original Idol winner returned for her very own week dedicated to her back catalogue. Kelly loved Clark’s performance so much that she even joked that she was pregnant after the handsome blues singer performed it for her during the mentor session.





1. Clark Beckham – It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World (Top 12)
YouTube view count: 313,000+
With more than 313,000 YouTube views, Clark’s cover of the James Brown 1966 classic ‘It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World’ is officially the most viewed performance of season 14, and clearly, the judges loved it too. Keith called the performance “amazing,” whilst Jennifer named it “the vocal of the night.”
