Our men’s issue is always one of my favorites because it speaks to me on a personal level. This year our new Health and Living section covers men’s health issues, with top male doctors in the area promoting preventative care—a topic that hits close to home. Our men’s style section is always something to look forward to. With a full spread dedicated to guys, it’s a great source for learning about the new trends in men’s fashion—a subject that’s especially relevant to our cover star, Richard Gere.

Gere has always been an icon in Hollywood, but it was his work in American Gigolo that made him an icon in fashion, too. His sense of style was fully expressed in the unforgettable scene where h e opened his closet and displayed his vast wardrobe. Before the movie, there wasn’t a big source of inspiration in men’s fashion, and this scene helped spur the creation of a new realm of clothing, with Armani at the forefront and different options, like patterns and styles, coming into play.

As the publisher and a reader of Philadelphia Style, the male-focused content in these pages resonates with me, and I am excited to present it to all of you. And for all our female readers, we encourage you to show this issue to your significant others and male friends. They may learn something vital about their health or even be inspired to update their wardrobe.
