BILOXI, MS (WLOX) –
Holley high-performance carburetors, tail lights for a ’66 Mustang and antique license plates are a small sampling of the things you can find at the annual Cruisin’ the Coast swap meet at the Coast Coliseum and Convention Center.
The annual swap meet is a dream-come-true super store for many car owners and lovers.
“Well, I needed a few parts for my Vette, which is a 1975. Bought it in 1975, still got it. Just making it better,” said Russell Hatten of Wiggins, “Bought a cover for my hydromatic transmission. It’s got a drain plug in it. The ones that came on it did not have the drain plug.”
A popular vendor from Minnesota has a little something for everyone.
“Probably a thousand different products here. And trying to give it all to car folks,” said Andrew Mell.
If they don’t have it, you probably don’t need it.
“Bunch of bits for drills, drill bits. Machinist stuff. All of the above, really,” he said, “Little bit for everyone.”
Inside the convention center are hundreds more vendors. Robin Handy was checking out the classic car tee shirts.
“Shopping. Getting good deals. Trying to get good deals,” she said, after finding the perfect Dodge Dart shirt for her husband.
If artwork is more your thing, there are always hand drawn lithographs. Artist Ian Jones and his wife, Margot, shared his unique story.
“He’s originally from England. And he’s been drawing American cars since he was little and he came to America 20 years ago. And this is 20 years of his artwork,” said Mrs. Jones.
Steve Sauter turns heads with his unique jukeboxes cranking out the oldies, with new technology sound.
“It’s a brand new jukebox. It’s got the old look to it and all the new technology. We sell lots of these. It’s a new unit with Bluetooth compatible,” said Sauter.
The swap meet continues Friday and Saturday, from nine until five at the coast coliseum and convention center.
