'It's a Man's Man's Man's World' on The X Factor Australia 2014

Ryan Imlach sings ‘It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World’ on The X Factor Australia 2014 Boot Camp.

Ryan Imlach is the sentimental favorite of more than a few viewers, if only for the one-two punch of his “dumped at the altar” / “only second time performing live in front of people EVER” backstory. But Ryan actually has a very unique, nuanced, mature voice. He kind of reminds me of The Voice winner Josh Kaufman. It’s just such a wonderful voice to listen to, and surprising in its complexity. But Ryan’s onstage performance? Not so much. The poor guy actually seems to have anti-stage presence, spending the majority of the number with his eyes closed (contrary to Redfoo’s instructions), and stiffly wiggling around like one of those wind socks outside a car dealership. But his vocal is just so outstanding that I can’t really hate on this performance. I could actually see Ryan winning this thing, honestly. Not that I necessarily think he will, but I truly believe he could.
