Bike and motorcycles collide

SAND BEACH TOWNSHIP – An accident involving a bicycle and two motorcycles Friday on Schock Road, south of Harbor Beach, caused injuries to four people.

The Huron County Sheriff’s office responded to the incident just before 3 p.m., and found that Ricky A. Christie, 48, of Harbor Beach, had been riding his bicycle northbound on the northbound shoulder of the road and attempted to merge to the southbound lane shoulder as two motorcycles approached. He was struck by the first motorcycle, which was driven by 25-year-old Daniel P. Moses, of Harbor Beach.

The collision caused Christie, Moses and Moses’s passenger, 25-year-old Chelsey K. Priemer also of Harbor Beach, to all be thrown from their vehicles.

A second motorcycle driven by 26-year-old Amanda J. Priemer, of Harbor Beach, initiated heavy braking, causing her also to be thrown from her motorcycle.

All were transported to the Harbor Beach Hospital for treatment, with Amanda Priemer later being transported to a Saginaw area hospital for further treatment.

Other agencies assisting in this incident were the Harbor Beach Police Department, the Harbor Beach Fire Department and Eastern Huron Ambulance.
