BOISE — A new clinic aimed exclusively at men opened Thursday in Boise.
The founders of the Idaho Urologic Institute Men’s Health Clinic say the clinic could be a boon for men who aren’t eager to make a doctor’s appointment.
Dr. Joe Williams, a urologic surgeon at the clinic, says women are much more likely than men to seek out medical care and testing as they get older.
“Men don’t have that kind of a timetable, other than maybe getting a colonoscopy when they turn 50. And so, they frequently don’t seek medical care until they think that something is wrong,” he said.
The clinic can help men who suffer from prostate cancer, erectile dysfunction or urinary problems. Williams says the health clinic will also provide quick referrals to other specialists if patients need it.
The clinic is located at 222 North 2nd Street, Suite 115 in Boise. To schedule an appointment, call the Idaho Urologic Institute at 208 639-4899.
